About this Blog

Before I start my ramblings, I thought that it would be helpful to explain my thinking. As I've worked through the project I have learnt a lot and also designed quite a number of parts for the build.

I felt that it might be helpful to others to learn from what I've done, to provide links to these parts and also to help others avoid the same pitfalls I have.

I'd love to hear from anyone who may end up referring to these posts. It's been an interesting and fun experience, if frustrating and lengthy at times.

"How many attempts does it take until that X-Axis tensioner fits as it should and why is it designed in that way?".

My custom Y-axis idler and tensioner

If this is the sort of question which keeps you awake at night too, then this may be the blog for you!

I'm planning on releasing new pages as I have time and as the project progresses. If you're on the same path, please consider subscribing as I have only released the earliest information so far as I compile the rest. By all means see my other designs on Thingiverse or Cults3D for some of the parts which I'm hoping to cover here soon.
