Mount for BTT TFT35 touch display

Well, I've finally finished the mount for my TFT display. I'm really happy with it. It needs a little cleaning up where the support has come out of the slots, but it's working well and looking good.

I think that I've managed to satisfy each of the requirements I set myself

  • Easy to print - prints in four parts to minimise supports
  • Main elements slot together
  • The base includes a combined cable egress and clamping system for strain relief
  • As compact as I could make it, without it being impossible to assemble

The TFT itself slots very snugly into the fascia and fixes with (optional) M3 screws. The fit is actually snug enough that the screws can be omitted if preferred.

The fascia assembly then slides into grooves on in the base. As with the fascia, screws can be used or not.

The cables are threaded through the egress hole in the base, one at a time.

The mount is the screwed over the cables to the base. This does need screws as they also provide the mean of securing the cables to the overall mount.

The cables are then routed downwards through a slot in the base of the mount. I created a standard type of friction mount so that the same case can be easily fitted to different types of stand.

The stand for my A8 Plus is a special one to provide both elevation and to shift it to the right, in the same way that the original was mounted.

If you would like to create your own, the dimensions are as follows.

The two flanges are each 7mm wide with 3.5mm between them (with clearance) and 20mm tall (and deep).

The unit itself works very well. All functions seem fine and I have fitted the ESP-01S WiFi module inside too, with plenty of space and it's working fine.

I have accommodated a large space around the USB slot to allow for some of the huge memory sticks which exist.

It uses a friction mount which makes it easy to fit to other devices.

The model is available to download at Cults3D
